Common questions
What to know before DocuLens preview.
These answers describe the current release boundary. They will be updated as supported installation and purchasing paths become available.
Is DocuLens available in Microsoft Marketplace now?
No. DocuLens is preparing for limited preview. A Marketplace installation or purchase link will appear only after the offer is real, reviewed, and supported.
Does DocuLens work in Word on the web?
No. Word on the web is not supported and must not be used for DocuLens document workflows. The release target is supported desktop Microsoft Word.
Are my photographs uploaded to a DocuLens service?
The current architecture processes document and photo content inside the Office add-in. Licensing services receive account and entitlement metadata, not report photographs, captions, filenames, or document contents.
Can I still edit captions directly in Word?
Yes. Managed caption text remains editable Word content. DocuLens protects image relationships while keeping ordinary authoring available.
Does DocuLens automatically write reports with AI?
No. DocuLens does not currently claim autonomous report generation. Any future assisted-authoring capability must be optional, reviewable, and controlled by the author.
What happens when a document is damaged or manually changed?
Document Health reports privacy-reduced findings. Repair is a separate explicit action; it should not silently rewrite customer content.
